Refunds
Last updated 26 September 2026
Short version: ask within 14 days of any payment and you get your money back. Your photos aren't deleted when you stop paying.
The free globe is free
A globe holding up to 300 photos costs nothing and always will. No card, no trial that turns into a bill. There is nothing to refund on the free plan, so the rest of this page is about the paid plan only.
14 days, no questions
If you pay for a plan and change your mind, email us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full. You don't have to give a reason, and we won't ask for one.
That applies to the first payment and to every renewal after it. If a yearly renewal catches you by surprise, the same 14 days apply from the day it was charged.
Cancelling without a refund
You can cancel a plan at any time from the app. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for — so cancelling halfway through a month isn't a loss, you just keep what you bought until it runs out.
Past the 14 days we don't refund the unused part of a period, unless the law where you live says otherwise, or something on our end went wrong — in which case see below.
If we break something
If the site is unusable for a stretch, or a paid feature doesn't do what we said it does, tell us and we will refund the affected time whether or not the 14 days have passed. This is not a formal uptime guarantee — the terms are honest that we can't promise one — but we are not going to keep money for something that didn't work.
If you live in the EU or the UK
You have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because a paid plan starts working the moment you pay, checkout asks you to agree to it starting straight away and to acknowledge that doing so ends that statutory right once the service has begun.
We give you the 14 days anyway, as described above, so agreeing to immediate access costs you nothing in practice. This policy sits on top of your legal rights and never replaces them.
What happens to your photos
Nothing is deleted because you stopped paying. If your globe holds more than the free 300 photos when a paid plan ends, the globe stays exactly as it is and stays visible to you and to anyone holding your share link — you just can't add more photos until you are back under the limit or back on a paid plan.
You can download every trip and photo at any time, on any plan, from Download my data in the app. We would rather you left with your pictures than felt locked in.
How to ask
Email hello@mapmymemories.com from the address on the account and say which charge you mean. A date is enough; you don't need to find an invoice number. We'll reply within a few days, and once a refund is sent it usually reaches your bank or card in five to ten working days, which is their timing rather than ours.
Card details are handled by our payment provider, whose name is shown at checkout. Refunds go back to the same card or account that paid, because that is the only route the provider allows.
The one exception
We may turn down a refund where the policy is plainly being worked — repeatedly buying and refunding the same plan, for instance — or where an account was closed for breaking the terms. If we ever do that, we will tell you why.
If something has gone wrong, please email us before asking your bank to reverse a charge. A chargeback takes weeks and usually closes the account automatically; an email takes a day.
